News and Events

2010 is here along with a new year of HBA activities and business/community
contributions.

The HBA Board of Directors met on December 6, 2010. Topics of discussion
included:
  • The Homer Village Comprehensive Plan (public meeting January 27th at 6:30
    at the Town Hall Senior Center),
  • The HBA's participation in a mentoring program with students from Mr.
    Cortese's Economics class at Homer High School,
  • The HBA strengthening its ties with the Cortland County Chamber of
    Commerce, the IDA, as well as local SBA and SCORE programs,
  • Grant opportunities,
  • The April 2010 Annual HBA Dinner (date and time TBA),
  • "Wish List" of the types of businesses or facilities needed in the Village.  
    These included a cafe or bistro, a liquir/wine store, an ice cream/coffee shop,
    and a teen center.

Other News:

The Homer WinterFest has a new web location:  www.homerwinterfest.org

Have Property Available?
Renee Neiderman (Bev & Co) is collecting Site Availability information sheets. Any
HBA members or potential members who have property available for sale, rent or
lease can complete the form and return it to Renee at 1 S. Main Street in Homer.  
This information will be forwarded to the Cortland County Business Development
Corp (BDC-IDA).
