| Lakeland Environmental performs high quality licensed asbestos building inspections with easy-to-understand written reports.
In New York State, any building or part of a building constructed prior to 1974 and scheduled for demolition (partial or full) must be surveyed by a licensed inspector for asbestos-containing materials, per NYS Industrial Code Rule 56-1.9. If a building is constructed after 1974 but scheduled for whole- building demolition, a survey must be completed or the building must be assumed to contain asbestos. Buildings constructed after 1974 can contain asbestos, and it is the responsibility of building owners to protect occupants and workers under numerous EPA and OSHA regulations. Most New York municipalities (counties, towns, cities, and villages) require a proper asbestos survey before issuing a permit for demolition. We also inspect and sample fire debris piles and contaminated soil. |
